Stay warm in wool coats this winter

There’s a real chill in the air today as we draw closer to the penultimate month of the year. With leaves crunching beneath our feet, there’s a sharpness in the wind that only a thick winter coat can shield. This #FashionFriday, we’ve picked out some of our favourite wool coats to keep you warm through AW18.

Here at John Douglas Menswear, we’re fully stocked on coats and jackets for every occasion and style. With plenty of brands, colours and fits to choose from, there’s something to keep everyone warm this season.

Keep reading to take a closer look at some of our top picks this #FashionFriday.

Herbie Frogg:

A consistently fantastic brand, Herbie Frogg never fails to impress: their winter coats this year are certainly no exception.

These two are both quite similar, with unique details. Whether you opt for a subtle stone grey or a rich navy blue, these coats are a great choice.

The soft check design on this deep blue jacket adds a little something extra to a simple coat. With a detachable second zip/lining, this coat is great for transitioning from autumn to winter with England’s unpredictable weather. We love the colour clash with this mustard jumper from Howlin’.

For a classic look, this grey coat from Herbie Frogg is simply lovely. With a low funnel neck and hidden zip, this coat pairs style with function to keep you warm whilst looking dapper. Pair with this lilac scarf from Lyle & Scott to further the elegant, gentlemanly look.

Matinique:

Founded in Denmark in the 1970’s, Matinique knows a thing or two about winter clothing. With a Scandinavian, sleek style and incredible attention to detail, this camel coloured coat is a must-have in every modern man’s wardrobe.

With a cut and colour that is simple yet timeless, this coat will go with everything. Why not pair it with this sapphire Howlin’ jumper & a Barbour tartan scarf like we’ve done here.

Ted Baker:

Last but not least is a Ted Baker staple. This blue/black coat with a stunning patterned lining is a basic with a twist. With Ted Bakers usual high quality and great fit, it is clear why this coat is one of our favourites this week.

With deep red details and a bold lining, this coat has both autumnal and wintery accents. This ‘go with anything’ colour looks great paired with a striking scarf such as this patterned one from Fraas (above) or with this khaki jumper from Howlin’ (below).

That’s all this for this #FashionFriday. We hope you’re keeping wrapped up warm this weekend. Visit our showroom on Chestergate, Macclesfield to find your perfect wool, winter coat.
