This weeks #FashionFriday, it’s time to get ready for autumn. The season of grey mornings, chilly evenings and crunchy leaves underfoot is finally here; and here at John Douglas, we’re more than prepared.
A good quality parka jacket is the perfect layer to keep you warm throughout the transitional stage through to autumn. Whether it’s a lightweight layer to keep the chill off, or a chunky, fleece lined parka to really keep your warm; a parka will see you through all kinds of British weather.

No parka collection would be complete without mentioning one of our staple brands here at John Douglas Menswear; Britain’s own, Pretty Green. Founded by Oasis’ frontman, Liam Gallagher, this label is known for it’s high quality coats and jackets. Perfectly in line with Gallaghers own style, these parkas are fashionable and unique, yet will keep you warm even in typical Manchester weather.
This khaki green hooded jacket is a great modern twist on the standard parka. With a slimline fit, corduroy trims and distinctive details; this is a great option for a city jacket that will hold in warmth whilst looking slick.
Alternatively, this slate toned jacket with contrasting crimson lining is great for autumn walks in the countryside. With a double fastening for extra warmth and a faux fur hood, this is an ideal everyday parka from Pretty Green.
Scotch & Soda:
One of our top labels at the moment is Amsterdam’s own, Scotch & Soda. This teddy lined parka is ideal for those colder days in AW18. The fluffy ‘teddy’ lining and inner quilting add extra warmth, whilst the contrasting tartan and stunning details make this parka truly unique. This jacket is also available in ‘Walnut’ and ‘Pine’ shades, but we love this ‘go-with-everything’ shade of steel blue.
That’s it for this weeks #FashionFriday. Keep yourself wrapped up warm this AW18 and start now with parkas from our favourite brands. Visit our showroom on Chestergate, Macclesfield to find your every day warmth.
See you soon!
