Don’t be blue this autumn, be navy!

This #FashionFriday we’re truly embracing the colder weather. Last week we delved into lightweight autumn jackets from Gibson; this week we’re warming up with winter coats from some of our favourite brands.

As the days get darker, so do our wardrobes. But don’t think that this means your coats always have to be black. Navy is the perfect alternative to a black coat. This classic colour can be both sophisticated and casual and brightens up your outfit just enough without going overboard.

John Douglas Menswear in Macclesfield has a large variety of jackets and coats in store, to get you ready for the colder seasons. Whilst the sun is still popping up, we’ve got our woolly jumpers and sturdy winter boots at the ready for AW17.

Now is the perfect time to update your wardrobe with a new winter coat. Keep reading to see some of our favourite navy blue coats.

Gibson:

As seen in last weeks #FashionFriday, Gibson London’s ‘Vintage’ range is one of the top choices for John Douglas Menswear this year. With a distinctive style inspired by British heritage; this high-quality range has something for everyone.

Whilst last weeks #FashionFriday focused on some of the bolder designs from this range, Gibson London’s ‘Vintage’ also includes some more simple pieces. This double-breasted, heavyweight coat incorporates a classic cut with a rich navy blue.

This coat would look fantastic with a colourful scarf wrapped around its bold collar, and the iridescent orange lining oozes autumnal vibes.

Barbour:

Next up is the Barbour ‘Chingle Tweed Wool Jacket’. Barbour has been a distinctive British brand for the last 120 years.

Here’s what they had to say about this fantastic jacket, ‘This smart deck jacket is cut for a shorter length with a wool-blend outer, a zip fastening and a button-close storm guard. Detailed with a sit-down cord collar, contrast fabric elbow patches and a drawcord at the hem. The addition of a quilted lining makes it ultra warm.’

A real statement coat, this elegant, long-line overcoat is perfect for the modern gentleman. With its eccentric patterned lining and luxurious cashmere feel, this coat navy from Ted Bakers ‘Endurance’ collection is truly something special.

Alternatively, the ‘Zachary’ Wool Peacoat is an incredibly versatile jacket. With its incredibly autumnal lining, this wool-blend Italian fabric will keep you warm through till spring. Worn with a thick, colourful jumper, or over a trendy shirt, this is a simple yet cool coat to keep you warm yet stylish.

That’s all for this weeks #FashionFriday; just a very small glimpse into the huge amount of jackets and coats we have in stock this AW17. From wool to leather, there is something for everyone at our showroom on Chestergate, Macclesfield.
